OUR VISION
Inclusive
Our vision is to create a space where all children and young people feel welcome and safe. Art is for everyone to enjoy and we want to create an environment which invites everyone, no matter their age, additional needs, gender expression or ethnicity.
Inviting
Using the principles of the 'Curiosity Approach' we aim to create an environment which invites exploration and experimentation. It's ok to get messy, make mistakes and try something new. Positive experiences through art help build resilience, wellbeing, connection and curiosity.
Exploring
We aim to create a free flowing provision where children and young people can be led by choice to explore materials and techniques. As well as this an artist will engage and support our community to learn new skills, explore new artists and have the opportunity to work with unfamiliar disciplines.
Community
We know that creativity helps build community. We hope to engage our local community in Sneinton as well as a wider community of parents, carers and children from across the city by providing sessions and groups which will meet their needs and connect them to others. We also hope to reach out to the community through sessions, exhibitions and events.

Hello!
My name is Lora. I run the Wild & Free Studio. If you ask anyone who knows me they will probably tell you two things about me... I am very creative! And I love working with children!
I am a very experienced primary school teacher and I have worked in Sneinton for 20 years. Initially I started work as a children's development worker at the local library and ran groups for children and families. I then trained to be a teacher and worked at a local school for over 10 years. I am an experienced Early Years practitioner and l also had the privilege of running the schools art curriculum. I have run many different art groups and projects over the years including a whole school project around Refugees which became an exhibition which involved the local community.
I have two amazing children who are now teenagers. I adopted them when they were toddlers and so I have a good understanding of the differing needs of parents and children. Both my children had various needs and this made me very aware of the difficulties of accessing activities and groups for pre school children. When they were younger I ran a group for adopted parents and I know how great the need is for support for adopters and foster carers.
I am also an author and illustrator and I aim currently writing my third picture book. I love painting and printing and being creative in any way. I have a little dog called Bear who is mostly well behaved but very loveable.
